Ellis drew this to apologize for breaking 12 eggs all over my kitchen. It was his first social communication. All of his efforts to draw or talk prior to 'Uh Oh...Broken' revolved around getting what he wanted ( 'I want Juice', go outside, go see Grand Pa, I no want help...). This was the first time he communicated for the purpose of sharing an experience. I became a real Dad when Ellis drew this because he started relating to me. It remains my all time favorite drawing.

 Ellis drew the cracked eggs. I added the dripping yoke to the composition.
