Ellis' first drawing was at age 5. He drew 'WE' when he was 8 years old. Ellis' first drawings were of himself. Then he added his family. This was his first drawing of other people. It is a scene of him and his classmates playing with a parachute at school.

The drawing used to make the painting is inspired by Ellis' original (see Photo).

Ellis classmates are in the background. The parachute is painted onto the glass.
